FYI please - particularly like the juxtaposition of the 2nd and 7th sections.

Dear quizzing colleagues,

Croatian Quizzing Association organises the 6th Croatian Open which will take part between Monday October 19 and Sunday October 25. It's the individual quiz, so if your country has gathering restrictions, feel free to play it at home. If you play it at home, you still must have a proctor - a person whom I'll send the PDF with questions and answers and who will send me back the score(s).

Feel free to offer this exceptional quiz to your quizzers and reply with an email address on which I'll send all the papers on Sunday Oct 18.

The authors and the format are the same as last 3 years so we guarantee universal questions, playable anywhere in the world. So here's the format:

Croatian Open will be divided into seven categories, 30 questions each, played out in two halves. First half will consist of four categories (120 questions) played for 60 minutes, and the second half of three categories (90 questions) played for 45 minutes as to give the player a little 'breather' later into the paper (we understand it's hard to stay highly focused longer than 100 questions).

List of categories is following:

1. Society (mythology & religion, social sciences, human geography, world cultures)
2. Popular arts ('lowbrow' arts, including popular musicals, popular music of all genres, TV shows, popular books, comics)
3. Lifestyle (food and drink, trends, internet, products, bussiness, everyday life including hobbies, current events)
4. Science and Physical World (natural science including exact sciences and flora & fauna, physical geography)

----------------

5. History
6. Sport and Games (sport and sports-related hobbies and media, board games, card games and video games)
7. Fine arts ('highbrow' arts, including paintings, sculptures, architecture, art films, classical music and modern critically acclaimed music, acclaimed books, theatre)

The participation fee is 5 EUR per quizzer, and the payment can be done via PayPal on dejan....@gmail.com

Best regards,
