Hi all,

I'm just about ready to release version 6.9 which is going to be a huge upgrade. Somewhat problematic, highly experimental, and full of lot's of new stuff. I just want to sleep on it a bit, and do some more testing and fine-tuning tomorrow. The BoltWire site is already running live on it. Probably will push it out tomorrow...

In the meantime, I'm open to some feedback about the direction this is going. So if you care to share here's three sources of information I invite you to explore:

I've got a lot of stuff coming out in this release including some problem areas. I've got most of it documented here. If you need a smoother upgrade path for something specific, now is the time to let me know.

A brand new blog post outlining what's going on with the skins. I think you are going to love all the new skin management features...

I've created a new skins area so you can preview the skins in the core distribution. Take a peek and let me know if you have any input on any of these. Will continue updating these, and perhaps replace a couple eventually, if I can find some better ones--but it's a start. Also, if you want to contribute a skin, let me know. If it looks usable, I'll be happy to tweak it and get it working right out of the box...

Anyway, assuming I don't hear anything significant, I'll be releasing 6.9 soon. Then for 6.91 I'll be overhauling the plugins the same way and dumping in lot's of really cool new code. That should hopefully go a lot more quickly. And then a new and expanded admin area for 6.92. A couple days at most for that. Then, the only other big remaining issue will be the member management system. That will be another big upgrade challenge. Then catch our breath for a minute or two to fix any outstanding bugs. And we'll publish 7.0. :)

Cheers,
Dan

Everything sounds great. You must have spent hours to explain all the details. We'll have a very versatile system!
Thank you, Martin
