While you're not required to look over whats being deleted, whenever I run bleachbit, I just skim over what it plans to delete just to make sure it's nothing critical. As far as I know, it won't delete any settings for any programs but it does delete stuff like temporary files in your local and system directories as well as your internet history and cache for any browsers you have installed.

I downloaded and installed bleachbit_3.9.0-1 from the Puppy Package Manager(PPM) in Fossapup64 9.5.
First updated the PPM database.
Did a search for bleachbit.
PPM installed BleachBit and found and installed all the dependencies needed, listed in the first post.
Started up with no problem from menu-BleachBit

Thanks for the tip! I went into the Launcher Properties by right clicking BB as root in the start menu, and changed the command to gksu bleachbit and it works perfectly. Before the edit it was something like su-to-root -X bleachbit (that's probably not exact, I wish I had copied it before I edited it, but I guess it doesn't matter).

According to the change log of bleachbit, the overwriting of files in /var/tmp/kde-* has long been disabled in bleachbit. But either people manually enable it (which only makes sense when KDE does NOT run), or the fix does not work correctly.

BleachBit is a very common junk cleaner and as popular as ccleaner. INfact, bleachbit contains more areas for cleaning than ccleaner. I have been using bleachbit with bitdefender for past couple of years and the vendors who are detecting bleachbit as malicious have a false positive detection.
