Sonia has promised to write up the many things we decided last night
at Café de la Paix.

Just a note: next meeting will be at my house in Sasso Marconi (Via
Santa Liberata, 8 347/0714343) on Saturday 30/1 at 3pm - I'm guessing
it will take a couple of hours.

and afterward perhaps have a chance to throw our ideas at ferrarini, if he has time (i will ask)- and exchange notes on our progress so far....

I am so excited about how well this idea sta prendendo forma e solidità!!

baci,

sh

Ciao a tutte!
Ok, so it's been a while since the last minutes...
Hope everyone's well..
Here's the update:
Two Saturdays ago, Giorgia, Shanna and myself met to work on An Ideal Husband and Lady Windemere. It was generally productive, but there's obviously still a lot of work to be done.
We also spoke about the fact that it seems that everybody is directing their own plays now, so this will save on having to be involved in too many different plays.
Have any of you managed to meet up in your respective groups to work on the other plays?
The next step, as discussed the last time we met together is to contact Dehon and get a date so we know when we're working for.
And in the timebeing keep working in our individual groups. I think it could be a good idea to set a date for a rehearsal all together to show the work that we've done. Maybe in a month?
Let me know your feedback.
Statemi buone.......

Calling all Wilde Women....

Ok, so it seems we've lost touch somewhat, but I think it's important we keep a certain structure to the work we need to do to get this show on the road! So, I was thinking of the various things that need doing and also how best to organise rehearsals.

First of all, we need a date! Shanna and Lisa, have you managed to go to Dehon yet? You're really the best women for the job... and the sooner we have a date, the more guarantee we have that we can get a show done before the summer and we can structure our rehearsals much better.

Talking of rehearsals.... as we said, we should be rehearsing in our smaller groups, but it may be a bit difficult to organise that and use our time efficiently as there's a lot of overlapping between the groups. So, here's a possible timetable that we could try and follow:

And if we can find somewhere that has two rooms, then that would be amazing! This way two groups can work at the same time..

(Time's are obviously a suggestion):

12.00 - 13.20: Earnest group: Giorgia, Lisa and Julia

13.30 - 14.50: Salome' group: Julia, Lisa and Angie (Shanna optional as voice of Jokannen will either be recorded it seems, or in any case read, so it's probably not necessary to be there at all rehearsals).
13.30 - 14.50: Husband group: Sonia, Giorgia, Shanna

15.00 - 16.20: Windemere group: Shanna, Giorgia, Sonia
15.00 - 16.20: WONI group: Angie, Lisa, (Shanna - only for two lines.... again, not necessary to do every rehearsal)

Please forgive any mistakes.... it's very much like a puzzle trying to put this together! I tried to make it work so people only have to come for a short period of time without any waiting around. I think I have managed to do that for everyone except for Giorgia - if you see some way around that, then please make suggestions!

You'll have noticed that the rehearsal are qwuite short, but I think it can help us to put time limits so we make the work as efficient as possible. And plus, most of the work of learning lines and memorising them should be done at home individually, so we shouldn't need masses of time together - and also DON'T HAVE masses of time together, so...

Please let me know what you think of this.
Is next Saturday realistic for everyone?

Have a good weekend!

Hi WW,

Saturday would be OK for me but 4.30 pm is the best time for me too.
Regarding Windermere's group, I see I haven't been mentioned.  Is it because the lines are not many and so this can be done further on?

Let's keep in touch.

Sorry, but it must be the flu that I am going through at the moment, but in WONI - why Shanna and not Giorgia  I thought Giorgia was Gerarld for the two lines.

Hi everyone,

Julia and Lisa: Hows the reading of the parts going? I've got an audio-book on CD of the play so I'll see if I can make copies so that you can listen to it, might give us some ideas.
Would you both be up for a rehearsal next week? Please give me your suggestions on times and place.

On another note, I've been doing some research on companies which put on English shows for kids and the plays are usually adapted (linguistically) for non-english speaking audiences.
Are we still set on the original versions??

ciao
giorgia

whew! i am having a hard time figuring out this forum, seems new
messages and old ones overlap and...well, i am revealing myself as a
bit of a technophobe, i guess.
ANYway:
Saturday anytime is good for me. My house is warm and we CAN take over
two rooms.
Angie: we had left you off the LWF list for logistics reasons: it may
be simplier for me to do Lady Whats-her-face, since I have to be there
anyway. That said, I am of course not ATTACHED to doing her, so if you
feel strongly that you want to and can handle the time commitments, by
all means. On the other hand, without her, I am barely acting at
all...but of course, "the greater good"...and all that jazz...
I have to apologize for not being more active at the moment in
organizing. I have been thoroughly preoccupied by a friend's serious
illness and am very pleased to see everyone else (esp Sonia - thank
you!) stepping in to make sure things don't fizzle.
I sent you all a Facebook link about a group in Southern Italy doing
English language theatre for schools. The time must be RIPE!
PLUS...I think we could simultaneously get paid work doing Murder
Mysteries (in restaurants). Julia esp has a Plan. Our original Plan
had been as a language lesson with the students in the roles, BUT this
fad seems to have taken off for the passive Italians to relax and eat
in a restaurant and just WATCH the action and amuse themselves by
guessing. So the time could well be ripe to offer it in English, too.
WW could stand for WICKED women not just Wilde ones, eh?

so? next step, time, place? I remain available, open, willing to wine
and dine y'all...but if you find my space inconvenient for any reason,
weather permitting, I am mobile.

let me know, my radical thespians
baci,
shanna

Hello everybody,
Great to hear that rehearsals are being planned... :))
I unfortunately won't be able to make it on Saturday as I have to go to Ferrara. I'm filling in for a friend of mine who does theatre in English and needs someone to fill in - as coincidence would have it! - so I need to go there for rehearsals as the show is soon.
So, for my piece, obviously no rehearsal, and I'm only in one other show, which is Shanna's, so Shanna you could read my part, so not too much of a problem there either. I'll catch up I promise!

Good luck with rehearsals and write in with updates.

Also for Shanna and Lisa - any idea on a date at Dehon yet?

Have a great weekend!

Hi everyone,

I have only this morning opened my pc to read all the emails and need to
update you on my health. After having a high temperature (39) I now have an
ear infection + cervicale.
Although I am taking antibiotics I have gone completely deaf and if tomorrow
morning things haven't changed then I shall be off to Pronto Soccorso to see
if the Oto doctor can do something more for me.

I shall let you all know the outcome of me being able to participate or not
on Saturday.

Lisa, can you let me know how you are proceeding with AWONI.

Ciao.
