Burning Man 2022 | Jack Rabbit Speaks

Volume 29, Issue #20 | July 16, 2025

From Down the Rabbit Hole

In just a few weeks from now, teams will be arriving in Northern Nevada to start measuring, planning and building one of the world's great ephemeral wonders: Black Rock City. With the start of these 2025 Special Edition Jackrabbits you can officially get very, extremely excited about going to Burning Man.

If you're new here, these six emails will roll out between today and August 20 with  essential information for every human going to Black Rock City 2025. Make sure you read each edition! And if this is your second or tenth Burn, you don't get a hall pass. There will be a test administered by a curious first-time Burner (or many) with a dozen questions. Make sure you know what to say!

Welcome to the Kids and Families Special Edition JRS for Black Rock City 2025.

Can I bring my kid to Black Rock City? Heck yes! Little whippersnappers have been an integral part of Burning Man since the very beginning. When Larry Harvey and Jerry James burned the first Man in 1986, their five-year-old sons built a Burning Dog alongside their dads' human-shaped effigy.

Black Rock City is full of adventures and events for kids — there's even a dedicated village called Kidsville just for kids and families. Children 12 and under enter Black Rock City free of charge. They require a Kid's Ticket; registration for Kids' Tickets is open now. The city’s infrastructure supports the presence of families and our community has a stellar history of taking care of its wild, wonderful children.

There are some great resources and programs for Burner families we want you to know about... Keep reading for links to the Family Survival Guide and more.

Black Rock City is a magical playground for kids and adults alike. But don't take our word for it. Hear it directly from the kids:

Are you a parent still looking for your Burning Man tickets? Fear not, the OMG Sale is coming up. Registration begins July 21 at 12pm PT. The sale will open July 30 at 12pm PT. Thanks to generous higher-priced ticket purchases in earlier sales, $550 and $650 tickets will again be available on a limited basis. Get ticket details here.

Oh, to experience Black Rock City through the eyes of a child!

The Man Burns in 45 days!
