Burning Man 2023 | Jack Rabbit Speaks

Volume 29, Issue #22 | July 27, 2025

From Down the Rabbit Hole

A cacophonous dust storm is on the horizon, composed of boots on the ground, bright lights, big sounds and wild imaginings. Do you feel it? Call your friends! Gather your dusty gear! Try on your looks and get freaky! It's nearly time to go to Burning Man.

Got your ticket? Registration for the OMG Sale is open now. You have until 12pm PT on July 29 to register for the sale, which opens on July 30 at 12pm PT. A limited number of $550 and $650 tickets will be available. This is your last chance to buy Black Rock City 2025 tickets directly online. If you happen to be in the Bay Area, drop by the Beyond the Fence Sale on August 3 to buy tickets in person. Details below.

Here comes the art! Interactive, thoughtful, playful, experimental and weird... so many works of art are nearing completion in studios, garages and backyards everywhere. Read on to meet some artists who could use a hand during this final stretch, and learn how you can help.

If you are preparing for dusty adventures, be sure to read the 2025 Survival Guide. Also in this edition, tune into conversations about AI art and Burning Man on the podcast. It's your last call to mail a letter for Temple of the Deep. And the Black Rock City Census team wants YOU.

Be sure to join the Burners Without Border Worldwide Call on August 6 to hear from the humans behind CHIditarod and other inspiring projects. It's all below.

Get in. We're going on a juggernaut of fun.

The Man burns in 34 days!

Help Artists Bring their Mind-blowing Projects to Black Rock City

At Burning Man, everyone helps create the art that illuminates the vast playa. Artists, art crews and their extended communities devote days, weeks and months planning and constructing their work. Alongside comes the Communal Effort of this endlessly resourceful community. Some art projects need financial support; others are looking for help with their build, logistics, administration, and more.

Whether or not you're headed to Black Rock City in a few weeks, there are hundreds of opportunities to help make mind-blowing art happen. Here are a few pieces in need of your financial support:

  • "ORBs" by David Oliver: Three plant creatures from the Universal Dimension will rise in full bloom, just in time for Black Rock City
  • "The Sphinx Gate" by Mareesa Stertz, Tania Abdul, Jason Chase & the Sphinxters: Two towering Sphinxes with laser eyes invite seekers on an immersive quest
  • "Solar Synaptic Dynamo" by Temple of the Utterly Indifferent: A vibrant, 32-foot tower will serve equally as a beacon and a sustainable energy hub
  • "These Three Sisters of Fate" by Valerie Mallory and They Collective: An evocative sculpture that revisits Greek folklore about the Sisters of Fate
  • "Kiosk" by Studio Woo Woo: A quiet grove of stone pillars shimmering with inner light, Kiosk evokes a ritual space where the future waits in gestation
  • "Saṃsāra" by Art with Arundo: Enter a sacred place for communal water worship where participants can turn the wheel to perform the ritual of water abundance
