IMPORTANT: Mentoship Program

Hi Guys,
As mentioned at the AGM I'm planning to start up a Mentorship Program at the club to get the juniors more involved with the senior members at the club. I need to know ASAP who's interested so I can get it up and running. The plan is as follows:

Each month I'll assign juniors to a "Mentor". There will more than likely be more than one Junior per Mentor but I'll go into that in a bit. I'm wanting Mentors to have a games with the juniors, feeding in a way that they are keeping the rallies going. There will be a varied standard so sometime the feeds will have to be easier than others. Also if rallies are too short with the ball going 'out' alot then "carry on" calls or 2 serves etc. can be used if the ball is only slightly out.

Within that month the Mentor will need to play at least one 40 minute session (or possibly an hour) with his or her assigned junior(s). If there are 1 or 2 assigned juniors then it's one 40 minute session if there's 3 then it'll be an hour session, so 20 minutes each. Plus it's also a minimum of 1 session so if you wanted to give each of them a 40 minute session or play them all multiple times that's fine - go for it! You don't need to coach them as such but helpful tips and experience are always welcome.

You can add the sessions on before or after you friendly games or at the weekends, and if you need courts booking I can get them done. There won't be a cost to BH&L members but 1/2 the court cost for non members.

Then the next month I'll assign different juniors and the process repeats itself. Obviously the more time you can play them in the month the better however I know it's a lot of time to give up.

If you're interested let me know ASAP please and any involvement or time volunteered would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks All
Hope you've all had a nice summer and ready for the start of a new season!

Chris
