Hoy nos complace presentar la posibilidad de que los usuarios de scite formulen preguntas de investigación en lenguaje sencillo y obtengan respuestas directamente del texto completo de los artículos de investigación (pruébelo ahora / (Try it out now).
Piense en todas las preguntas que ha tenido y en lo difícil que ha sido encontrar una respuesta fiable. Tal vez te hayas preguntado si las camas de bronceado aumentan el riesgo de cáncer, o si beber agua dura tiene efectos negativos para la salud.
En Google, obtienes anuncios. En otros sitios, no estás seguro de si puedes confiar en la fuente. O tienes que construir tu pregunta de manera que un experto científico pueda hacerlo.
Nuestra nueva búsqueda "Haz una pregunta" te permite plantear preguntas frecuentes como ésta en términos sencillos y humanos. Y le mostramos los resultados directamente del texto completo de más de 32 millones de artículos de investigación que tienen la respuesta que busca, o al menos una pista que le indique la dirección correcta.
Al preguntar "¿Aumentan las camas solares el riesgo de cáncer?" / “Do tanning beds increase the risk of cancer?” aparecen respuestas como ésta, que indican que existe un riesgo de cáncer asociado, con la seguridad de que estos resultados están respaldados por investigaciones revisadas por expertos.
Y si se pregunta "¿Tener agua dura tiene efectos negativos para la salud?" / “Do tanning beds increase the risk of cancer?” se obtienen varios resultados que indican algunos de los efectos adversos de beber agua dura.
Por cierto, estos resultados no están resumidos ni generados por la IA, sino que son fragmentos de artículos completos que escribieron y publicaron investigadores reales.
¿Cómo es posible?
En scite, hemos creado la mayor base de datos del mundo de Citation Statements, es decir, las frases de los artículos de texto completo en las que utilizan referencias dentro del texto.
Cuando empezamos hace años, aprovechamos estas frases para desambiguar los recuentos de citas tradicionales a través de nuestra etiqueta, y ayudamos a los usuarios a leer exactamente cómo se citaba un artículo concreto y sus resultados en investigaciones más recientes a través de nuestras páginas de informes de artículos.
A continuación, creamos una experiencia de búsqueda única a través de esas declaraciones de citas, permitiendo a los usuarios de todos los dominios encontrar hechos directamente desde el texto completo de los artículos. Pero incluso esto requería algunos conocimientos avanzados de consulta.
Ahora, con "Ask a Question", esa riqueza de información es aún más accesible para cualquiera que se dedique a la investigación.

Think of all the questions you’ve had and how difficult it was to find a reliable answer. Maybe you wondered whether Tanning beds increase the risk of cancer, or Does drinking hard water have any negative health effects?
On google, you get ads. Elsewhere, you’re not sure if you can trust the source. Or you have to construct your question in a way that a scientific expert can.
Our new “Ask a Question” search lets you ask frequent questions like this in simple, human terms. And we show you results straight from the full-text of over 32 million research articles that have the answer you’re looking for, or at least a clue to point you in the right direction.
Asking, “Do tanning beds increase the risk of cancer?” surfaces answers like this, which indicate that there is an associated cancer risk, with the confidence that these results are backed by peer-reviewed research.
And asking “Does drinking hard water have any negative health effects?” yields a number of results indicating some of the adverse effects of drinking hard water.
By the way, these results are not summarized or AI-generated, but snippets from full-text articles that real researchers wrote and published.
How is this possible?
At scite, we’ve built the world’s largest database of Citation Statements – the sentences from full-text articles where references are used in-text.
When we started years ago, we leveraged these to disambiguate traditional citation counts through our badge, and helped users read exactly how a particular paper and its findings were cited in newer research through our article report pages.
Then, we built a unique search experience across those Citation Statements, allowing users across domains to find facts straight from the full-text of articles. But even this required some advanced knowledge of querying.
Now, with “Ask a Question”, that wealth of information is even more accessible to anyone who engages with research.
