Reminder - Immersion Travel Deadline is Approaching!

Hello Immersion Students!

This is just a friendly reminder that the deadline to book travel arrangements for Immersion is Friday, July 6th. However, we would love if you could book your travel as soon as possible! Please see the below instructions for arranging travel through our agency.

Directions for Booking Travel to Immersion

• Call Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) at 1-800-448-8596 within North America (Mon - Fri, 7:00am – 5:00pm, PST).
• Identify yourself as attendee to: Google Immersion in Mountain View (meeting #9696)
• Once you book your reservation with CWT, you will receive an email with your suggested itinerary within 72 business hours. It is crucial that you review it right away, ensure that all information is correct, and reply to confirm it for ticketing. Your name must appear the same on your travel itinerary as it does on the legal identification you will present at check-in.
• Important Notes:
Google will provide you with round-trip train travel or flights from your home airport.
You may arrive earlier or depart later than the specified dates if the ticket prices are comparable; however, you will be on your own for housing, meals, etc. during any extra time you spend in the bay area.
Unfortunately, due to budgeting, we cannot guarantee a nonstop flight. We will only approve over-fare flights if there are no other reasonable options available. Sorry for any inconveniences!

I called the travel agency but did not need to schedule anything because I am local and have a ride. I just wanted to double check that I am registered even though I haven't received an itinerary. I am looking forward to the trip!

I booked my travel through CWT on Friday at around 4:00pm for the trip to Mountain View. On the trip departing from Mountain View back to my home town (Memphis) on August 11th, I thought that I booked a flight for 12:50am (Red Eye) back to Memphis, but the itinerary says that I booked a flight for 12:50pm in the afternoon. Is there any way that I will be able to get this changed to a later flight or am I stuck with the 12:50pm flight?

Hi Alexandra,

Thanks for checking in. That's correct, you're registered for Immersion and actually don't need to arrange anything through CWT since you already have a ride. So no need to wait for an itinerary. :) Let me know if you have any other questions, and we look forward to seeing you in Mountain View!

Hi, I have a question regarding money on the Google trip. Will there be any sort of allocated spending money for the trip or will there not be many situations where we will need our own spending money? I just want to know so I can figure out what I should be bringing.

Hey Sinjihn,
Great question. We will cover all meals and the activities you do with the Google team while you are here, but if you want to bring some of your own money in case you want to get any extra souvenirs from Google or from California you can bring some extra spending money.
