Nature of Work
 
Oracle Enterprise Manager product is the front-line for all Oracle products w.r.t. monitoring, management, and provisioning. Every Oracle Engineered System is monitored, managed through Oracle Enterprise Manager.
 
At Oracle, the Enterprise Manager group is building a brand new Big Data Analytics platform to intelligently manage and monitor millions of nodes across multiple data centers (applications, middle wares, databases, operating systems, network, etc), detect problems in real time, predict occurrences of similar problems and prescribe the needed actions. There are many use cases for this platform, such as performance monitoring, trend detection, root cause analysis and addressing many daily cloud operation pain points. The platform can be deployed in the Cloud (e.g., Oracle Public Cloud) or on-premise.
 
Candidate Requirements
 
The successful candidate is a self-motivated software developer who can deal with complex problems.  Ability to learn new cutting edge technologies and must have strong software development experiences to help define and design the first generation of Big Data analytics platform.
 
Candidates will be responsible for:
 
* Be part of design and implementation of first generation Big Data analytics platform
* Coming up with innovative ideas to process Petabyte/Exabyte data in real time
* Working closely with UI development and Cloud Ops development
* Providing technical leadership to and mentoring a group of Junior and Mid-Senior engineers
 
Mandatory qualifications for this position are:
 
* Experience in highly scalable distributed systems
* Strong algorithmic skills
* Effective communication skills and very strong problem resolution skills
* Strong object-oriented programming skills, preferably Java
* Experiences with web-based development, e.g., REST
* Ability to work in a fast paced Agile development and rapid deployment in the Cloud/SaaS environment.
* Btech or Mtech in computer science or equivalent with 8+ years of experience
* Strong communication skills
 
Desired(Nice-to-have) qualifications for this position are (one or more):
 
* Wire frames, jQuery
* Understanding of data mining, machine learning and data sciences
* Knowledge of data modelling, statistical, mathematical and predictive modelling
* Experience with real time stream processing
* Experiences in scripting languages, such as R.
* High performance computing skills
* Experiences with cloud technologies/deployments
* Experiences in NoSQL or SQL databases
* Experience working in and collaborating with a geographically distributed team
