The other comments clarify the complication. It is unfortunate that Microsoft does not make this easy. I wonder how many people select 3D Objects, Music, Pictures, etc. Hopefully a new rev will make this an option.
By default, everything will be hidden except for the Known Folders that you add to that registry folder.
If you want to make other folders visible again, consult the Known Folder IDs article from Microsoft. The Folder's GUID would be the registry key name and a value of 1 shows it, while 0 hides it.
Notice the difference in context menu options when you right-click on This PC in the Navigation Pane(your screenshot) vs. right-clicking in the background of the content pane (Mr. Ethernets screenshot). It's the background of the Content Pane that offers the Group By and Sort By options.Mr. Eternet's solution brings the Devices and Drives group to the top. If that's sufficient for your needs, go with that --- it's the easiet.Romen's solution, creation of the AllowedEnumeration key, will hide the User folders under This PC, but also hides Libraries, OneDrive, etc. unless you add their GUIDs to the list of allowed folders:You can be more selective by setting the ThisPCPolicy registry value to Hide for each folder under:

Emanuele got a voicemail that was both very insistent and deeply apologetic.
I created a folder and subsequently created some files in a Dropbox folder from a laptop here in the office. This folder fails to show up in Windows File Explorer on another computer in the office. I can see the folder from the Dropbox App and tell it to open the files with the software on this computer, but I cannot see the folder from Windows File Explorer. This has been going on for several days now, and have re-booted this computer to see if it would sync up, but no success.

If you'd like to see if there are files in your Dropbox that may have problematic file names, you can use our try our lookup tool ( _files_check) while for a complete list of characters (letters, symbols, or numbers) that might be incompatible with the operating system on your computer(s), you can take a look in this Help Center article: -uploads/files-not-syncing
Last but not least, could you also check that the files you don't see have no more than 255 characters in the entire file path? This means from the C:\ all the way to the extension of a file.
I checked, there's no issues with file names, paths, etc. To re-state the issue to make sure I have been clear, the folder and files I am trying to get to in Windows File Explore do not appear in the Dropbox folder, however they do appear in the Dropbox app on the same computer.
Walter, I am unable to get to the Microsoft Store, the boss who has the credentials for that account is not here. I have checked and it is Windows 10 Home, and have found nothing to indicate that it is running in S Mode. The version of Dropbox on here is 20.4.0.0. I also do not see anything in the task bar or on the menu to indicate that syncing either has or is taking place, and nothing stating that the files are up to date. Is there some way to force Windows File Explorer to re-sync the dropbox folder?
Thanks for providing this piece of information @GBShields , that's indeed the S mode for Windows 10 as our own desktop app's version is currently 73.4.118 - the v. 20.4.0.0 is referring to the Microsoft store's application. Read on for more information:
We have upgraded computer to windows 10 and we wish to configure the setting Open file explorer to from GPO. We would like the file explorer open to This PC insted of Quick access. You can see wich setting on this image :(first setting on general tabs)
If you want it to behave like a traditional Registry group policy, you may want to consider checking the box for "remove this item when it no longer applies". If you want it to apply only to Windows 10, you may want to consider applying the following WMI filter or WMI item level target:
When you create, update, or delete a file via Windows File Explorer, it automatically syncs the changes to OneLake service. Updates to your item made outside of your File Explorer aren't automatically synced. To pull these updates, you need to right-click on the item or subfolder in Windows File Explorer and select Sync from OneLake.
Windows File Explorer is case insensitive, while OneLake is case sensitive. You can create files with the same name but different cases in the OneLake service using other tools, but Windows File Explorer only shows one of the files (the oldest one).
If a file fails to sync due to a network issue, you will have to trigger the Sync to OneLake. You can do this by opening the file & saving it, prompting the sync process. Alternatively, you can trigger a modify event using PowerShell by executing this command: (Get-Item -Path "").LastWriteTimeUtc = Get-Date
OneLake file explorer starts automatically at startup of Windows. You can disable the application from starting automatically by selecting Startup apps in Windows Task Manager and then right-clicking OneLake, and selecting Disable.
To exit, right-click on the OneLake icon in the Windows notification area, located at the far right of the taskbar, and select Exit. The sync pauses, and you can't access placeholder files and folders. You continue to see the blue cloud icon for placeholders that were previously synced but not downloaded.
To optimize performance during the initial sync, OneLake file explorer syncs the placeholder files for the top-level workspaces and item names. When you open an item, OneLake file explorer syncs the files directly in that folder. Then, opening a folder within the item syncs the files directly in that folder. This functionality allows you to navigate your OneLake content seamlessly, without having to wait for all files to sync before starting to work.
When you create, update, or delete a file via OneLake file explorer, it automatically syncs the changes to OneLake service. Updates to your item made outside of your OneLake file explorer aren't automatically synced. To pull these updates, you need to right-click on the workspace name, item name, folder name, or file in OneLake file explorer and select Sync from OneLake. This action refreshes the view for any folders that were previously synced. To pull updates for all workspaces, right-click on the OneLake root folder and select Sync from OneLake.
Starting in version 1.0.9.0, when you install OneLake file explorer, you can choose which account to sign in with. To switch accounts, right-click the OneLake icon in the Windows notification area, select Account, and then Sign Out. Signing out exits OneLake file explorer and pauses the sync. To sign in with another account, start OneLake file explorer again and choose the desired account.
When you sign in with another account, you see the list of workspaces and items refresh in OneLake file explorer. If you navigate to workspaces associated with the previous account, you can manually refresh the view by selecting Sync from OneLake. Those workspaces are inaccessible while you're signed in to a different account.
The OneLake file explorer only syncs updates when you're online and the application is running. When the application starts, the views for any folders that were previously synced refresh automatically. Any files that you added or updated while offline show as sync pending until you save them again. Any files you deleted while offline are recreated during the refresh if they still exist on the service.
