Dwarf Fortress Chromebook Download

I tried the linux4noobs subreddit but didn't have much feedback. If anyone has previous experience with something like this I would love to hear from them. Any chromebook/linux guides on DF compatibility would also be helpful. Strike The Earth!
So I heard about this game and I wanna download it on my chromebook. Ive downloaded linux but im not sure how to do the rest of it. When i download the file its a bz2 compressed file and im not sure if im doing it right. So how do I do it?
I could get Linux going on this with Crouton, and theoretically get Dwarf Fortress rolling with that and the Graphical overhaul, but my 3570K made DF somewhat responsive and quick to play. Dwarf Fortress on a dual core chromebook with a graphical mod? hahahahah I can feel the pain already imagining it.
Unlike other colony building games, in Dwarf Fortress, you have very limited control over each individual dwarf in your colony. You designate specific tasks to be performed, but the decision to actually perform any task is up to each dwarf. It is common for dwarves to carry out their tasks, but they may also choose to eat, sleep, socialize, create art, or run away from a ghost instead. This can become problematic when it comes to building objects, as multiple steps are involved. For example, to build a chair, you will need to somehow get a dwarf to chop down a tree, then construct a carpenter's workshop, and finally make the chair, and at each step along the way something could go wrong.
