Wow, what a month it's been! So the break in was a major bummer, but
we're pushing through and we've had some amazing community support as
a result, so there is definitely a "silver lining" to the cloud.
The support has been great, but we're still trying to make up for
losses and the BEST way you can help is to come to the Pedal 4 the
People Grand Finale this Saturday 6-10pm on the 8th Street block. Poke
will be playing incredible music all night long, beer garden, food,
Bike Polo Expo, and all sorts of other Bikey Fun.
Other nonBBP sponsored, but sure to be fun events going on this week
for Pedal 4 the People are:
Wed. 7pm "Icicles and Bicycles" (Family Friendly Ice Blocking Ride,
starting at Jacksons on Bogus Rd and up to Simplot's Hill)
Thurs. 6:30pm "Fast Reads for Fast Rides: at Hyde Park Books
Friday 9:45pm "Bare as You Dare Ride" at Camels Back tennis courts.
(I'm not going into detail on this one!)
One last thing. As cyclist, we want better safer streets for ALL kinds
of transportation, but don't always get heard. Here's a chance to be
heard tonight.
The public is invited to attend the public hearing on Wednesday, June
22 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held in the ACHD auditorium, located
at 3775 Adams Street, Garden City. Should you be unable to attend this
meeting but would like to submit written comments, please mail or e-
mail them to 3775 Adams St., Garden City, ID 83714 or to
tel...@achdidaho.org.
