to BOINC team founders
hey i just tried to install the client for this program and once it
had finished, it said to restart my computer, so i started saving my
internet windows and got ready to click restart, i looked for the
window but couldn't find it, so i asumed i'd made an error and
downloaded it again looking for that message after installation, it
didnt come up so i assumed it was no longer necessary. after that i
tried unsucessfully to open the client and then visited a few
participant websites to see if geting their files would force it open,
i could neither make head nor tails of the files nor could i find the
client in the list of windows vista programs able to run.

guess what i did? i went and got folding at home....
now i wonder why FaH surpassed BOINC as the fastest computer network
in the world awhile back?... this is really ridiclous, for such a
benificial program to be so hard to operate and even have to fund
their participants websites with ADDS... the 2nd fastest computational
network in the world doesn't even have ease of userbility... that
while 50 million computers are left idling on games like world of
warcraft while their players step out for a smoke leaving thousands of
petaflops per second on moving an avatar who nobody is watching major
science proects wait years for processing power that already
exists.,... making excuses that it is unreliable or too costly...

think how many net hackers make millions through bugs that steal mere
gigaflops of processor time, why can't scientific projects do that?
you could easily rent 0.01% out time to the military to research
nuclear explosions, since they're spending tens of millions at the
moment to build a supercomputer with a mere 10 or 20 petaflops of
power while with a million PCs in 2012 (the completion date) will put
out that much while asking nothing in return.

many PS3s for example have folding at home intergrated with a music/
web browsing program and in 2007 generated an average of 1000
teraflops peaking at 1.5 petaflops to make it the fastest
"supercomputer" in the world

all you have to do is send a letter to Blizzard corperation asking
them to sponser you and the project grows by 12 million users and $50
million

but what if they dont sponser us and the military isnt intersted? well
like i said earlier, there are thousands of hackers making millions a
year but taking stealing processing power to generate adds. all you
would have to do is use a minute portion of the computing base... say
5000-15000 of the involved computers at any one time to generate
revinue to pay for development expence through 100% legal means.

Basically, all i'm saying is you have millions of computers avaliable
to you, and the proect's only operating at a 10th of a percent of its
capacity... so why is it so hard to use your program? with the world's
computers togeather you could solve all the computations you've made
so far in a minute.. or you could wait another 10 years until you get
that super computer or commertial computers increase to supercomputer
outputs... =/
