Hi all,
I just wanted to update you on the details I learned about the City's upcoming water main reconstruction project going on this summer on South Bozeman, Koch and Lindley Place. I asked about the schedule, and they think it will be late August before they get to our part of town. I also asked whether they'd be replacing the sewer mains any time soon, as some folks pointed out those pipes are also 100 years old. They say our neighborhood is slated for slip lining rather than conventional "dig and replace" work, and not until around 2020. As for street repaving, South Bozeman is slated for 2012. Lindley may be another 10 years they say, as it's not in such bad shape. South Bozeman is bad!
That's what I've learned. I hope that helps. I asked them to be especially aware of the fact that the parking on Lindley will be a real problem, since we have no alley on the east side. Get ready to do some walking! I'm hoping the contractor will keep half our block open to traffic, and only close part of the block. We'll see if we can talk them into that.
