My homepage is listed on various censorware databases as "militant". I'm also
indexed with such keywords as "drugs" and "gambling". Not sure how that
happened. I'm still *very* unclear on what "militant" means. Maybe it's a
funny way to spell "everything else".
Oh, and one of the more famous censorware programs uses a cheesy-ass method
where they can't block specific URL's... They can specify up to the first
three characters of a URL after the domain name to be banned. WHich means
any other webpages on that site that start with those three letters are also
banned by proxy.
Sooooo.... guess what happens when a single user's homepage on Alachua Freenet
gets banned, and most of our user accounts start with "afn" as the prefix?
Still haven't been able to get the censorware company to specify which
particular webpage it is that generated this censoring. And they don't have
any response to my question about re-reviewing their ratings on a regular
basis, since I nuke old accounts on a regular basis...
I suspect it's probably someone's personal page with a "legalize pot" logo
on it...
