Well, what do you know? I leave BOFH-net for, what is it, 1.5 years(?)
and while I'm gone this happens? Congrats Abby, and good luck! I'm
glad I returned in time to read it.

And yes, I'm back. And yes, there's a reason for it. I suffer from not
only one, but two PHBs. Oh, and I've heard myself volunteer to
co-admining the mainservers and the Linuxsystems at this place.
Thankfully I was sane enough to dodge the NT-system!

And I thought I'd recovered.

No problem here, I thought it was interesting[1]. but then, I probably
never understood the really gross parts since there were some words I
simply didn't understood[4].

[1] since I haven't experienced it[2] in RL
[2] as co-driver[3] that is
[3] or should that be co-parent?

Nope. And now I've (hopefully) tamed Gnus 5 to do as I wish too!
*sigh* I had my old config for Gnus 4 in my .emacs, but that
appearently didn't work very well. I'm ashamed.

No, it doesn't, since Gnus 5 has about as much to do with Gnus 4 as
Solaris has to do with SunOS. :)

Yep. Found that out the hard way, ie the usual way I find out things
since I'm a "heck let's try it, it can't do much more than go
*boom*"-guy. I tend to try ./configure; make; just for the hell of it
before I start to read README- and INSTALL-files... *ahem*

Yes I'm lazy, but then, surprisingly often it DOES work!

I remember something like "When everything else fails..."

Great isn't it. It's almost as great as saying "Hey you, do ..." while
you enjoy the wonders of life like coffee or a nice cool jolt[1]. ;-)

[1] I really hate it that I only bought 2 trays at the hip instead of 10+.[2]
[2] Indeed, unavailable in The Netherlands.[3]
[3] Too much cafeine. [4]
[4] They should try my normal cup of coffee. >-)

Uhm... Isn't it the Netherlands that usually is rather liberal about
drugs[1]?

[1] This sentence feels like rather lousy english, but I can't figure
out what's wrong so I'll just going to leave it like that and hope
you can parse it anyway.

This isn't hash or something like that, it's cola. As a normal drink it has to
be conform the normal rules.[1]

[1] Maybe we should brand it as a drug, it is for me now.[2]
[2] I only had 40 jolts, really.

Actually, not too bad. Certainly nothing to point to and
say "You should have..." The biggest problem is dealing
with the singular/plural thing for The Netherlands (cf.
"Isn't Belgium usually rather liberal about drugs"--much
less wordy...but it's weird to say "The Netherlands is")

Why don't you just say "Aren't the Netherlands..."? Works for me.

Umm, in fact they are. We've got the provinces [3] North Holland,
containing Amsterdam, Haarlem and all that, and we've got South Holland,
containing Den Haag, Rotterdam, Delft and the likes. And ten more of
these things I won't name here...

And infiltration by all them rich buggers that flee the Dutch taxes.

Just to be anoying, yes they are.[1]

The Netherlands consist of 12 provinces of which 2 are north and south holland.
(north is were Amsterdam is ditched and south is the part with Rotherdam)
