Hey all,

So, there was a brief period that Kristen Ball and I participated in a bocce league. Dorky, right? No. INTENSE. We eventually quit because people were taking bocce --a sport meant for men in argyle sweaters and knee socks-- way, way too seriously.

That said, there's a tournament happening at Union Hall that sounds like both an amazing time AND an opportunity to help our local community. So, I propose that a bunch of us form teams, sign up, and join in the trash talking. All the relevant info is below.

Look forward to seeing you there!

DO GOODER BOCCE TOURNAMENT!

Do YOU want to 'Do Good Right Here' in Brooklyn?

In conjunction with the Brooklyn Community Foundation's (BCF) Do Gooder Awards Campaign to recognize and reward Brooklyn’s local heroes, Union Hall is proud to host a bocce tournament benefitting this great community nonprofit!

$25/ 2 person team to enter.  $500 of the cash collected will go to BCF and the winning team will get to determine which sector it will go to. The five fields of interest are: Arts for All, Caring Neighbors, Community Development, Education and Youth Achievement, and Green Communities (learn more about them here: www.BrooklynCommunityFoundation.org).  Alternately, the winning team will receive a bicycle sponsored by Amstel light....only one bike so choose your partner wisely.  Second Place team will win $100 gift card from Union Hall....that's alot of beer :)  Oh and did we mention Free Reyka Vodka for the two hours or when it's gone...whatever comes first!

The Brooklyn Community Foundation is dedicated to strengthening Brooklyn’s communities through grantmaking, community service and local giving, so don't miss this opportunity to give back and help the BCF celebrate the altruism, philanthropy, and commitment of individuals working toward a stronger Brooklyn.
