Hey everyone,

Saw this post on the TGC thread and wondered if this was something a few of us might want to help out with together. Specifically it seems like the toiletries kits could be a relatively easy/inexpensive way to show our support.

Thoughts?

Dear TGCers,

I'm going to Brazil to see, first hand, how God is using Restore
Brazil and Rio de Paz! My name is Amber Kohler, I am nurse in the
City and attending the Upper East Side service. Many of you heard the
message of Rio de Paz and Restore Brazil at the UES and Chelsea
services, a few weeks back. For those of you who didn't, Rio de Paz
is an organization started by a local Rio de Janeiro pastor. The
organization gathers local, national, and international media to cover
peaceful demonstrations which call the Brazilian government to hold
true to their constitutional obligations to work with integrity and
provide for the poor. Restore Brazil is working alongside Rio de Paz
and using the connections to plant Evangelical churches in the slums
of Rio de Janeiro.

On June 28th, I will be traveling to Rio de Janeiro for 8 days with a
team out of Orlando, from Cross Pointe Church. During our time in
Rio, we will be assisting Restore Brazil and Rio de Paz in VBS
programs, medical clinics, and service projects throughout the slums.
I am especially excited about this opportunity to assist in the
medical clinics, as it is a huge passion of mine to bring the love of
Christ to the under served through medicine. Our church is also in
the process of partnering with these two organizations, and hope to
send teams sometime in the near future!

Much prayer is needed for our trip to Brazil. Specifically for the
favor of the drug lords, in order to be allowed to continue to bring
God's love to the people in the slums. I am also asking God to
surround us with a mighty army of angels to be fighting the spiritual
battle for us. Also for safety throughout our travels and time in the
slums.

Jay Bauman, the leader of Restore Brazil, has asked if each team
member could bring down a bag of supplies. This is YOUR chance to
GIVE!!! Below is a list of items requested. If you have any of the
items listed, or would like to donate money for the purchase of the
items (at dollar stores/costco), I and the team in Brazil, would be
very grateful if you would like to donate it. (I know this is last
minute, but it could be a missional community/lifegroup project:).
Please email me back to let me know if you would like to contribute so
we can arrange a time for me to pick it up during the week of June
21-27, kohler...@gmail.com.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and support! I'm very excited
to see what God is doing in Rio de Janeiro!
Blessings,
-Amber Kohler
