Dear All,
I'm really saddened to know that many students are not atttending the video-conferencing course, which was set up after so much hard work on the part of your teachers. Partha and Sucheta did all the liasoning across the Education Technology department, the VC, Registrar, FO and Dean's offices, the Academic committee meetings of the Centre, and now continue to teach an extra evening course purely as a labour of love, because they felt it would enrich your lives and minds. Also, such innovative programmes are extremely rare, not just in India but right across the world, and I hope you will make the most of this privilege, and the commitment of quality teachers, and not just begin attending classes again, but also do your readings and come so that you can do them, and JU, proud.
I especially hope that PG II will appreciate what some teachers have done in keeping the Latin American class going in response to the special request from you, even after it had been formally decided to keep it in abeyance for one year, and show that appreciation in the one way teachers value - in getting full intellectual co-operation from their students in all the programs being held specially for the Latin American group.
Since I was the one who suggested to Sucheta and Partha that we take up Cornell's offer for the benefit of you folks, I'm now feeling extremely guilty for being responsible for suggesting this course in the first place - they've done all the hard work, and they don't deserve such disappointment in return. I still have faith in you guys, and hope you will get your acts together, and will have made this whole experiment worth the while for them - and for yourselves - before its too late.
Hopefully - and with warm wishes to all of you, Kavitadi
