Online Teachings and Discussion with Khenpo Tsering Starting This Sunday August 30th.

Dharma Mitra (known as Khenpo Tsering by students around the globe) has returned to California and will teach The Way of the Bodhisattva by Shantideva from beginning to end over the course of several months.

The Way of the Bodhisattva is a guide to cultivating the mind of enlightenment and generating the qualities of love, compassion, generosity, and patience. This text has been studied and practiced in an unbroken tradition for centuries. We are fortunate for the opportunity to study this classic text with an authentic Buddhist scholar like Khenpo.

Khenpo will teach via ZOOM on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, with the occasional 5th Sunday added. The link to join the ZOOM meeting is posted under the Sunday Meditation and Discussion heading on our center website and under the Sunday listings of our online calendar. Please contact us at s...@bodhipath.org if you have any questions.

Dates: We begin this Sunday, August 30th at chapter one: The Excellence of Bodhicitta. The next teachings are scheduled for September 13 and 27.

Time: We begin with opening wishing prayers and group meditation from 10 to 10:20 AM. All are welcome to join us. Khenpo will join us from 10:30-noon for teaching and discussion of this important text. Questions are encouraged and can be asked directly or entered into the chat box.

Donations: These teachings are open to everyone. Registration is not required. A suggested donation of $10 will help support the San Luis Obispo Bodhi Path Buddhist Center and we encourage additional offerings to support Khenpo. Donations can be made online via PayPalPlease indicate in the "NOTES" section of the PayPal payment page how much of your offering is allotted for Khenpo.

About the Teacher: Dharma Mitra received his education from several Buddhist masters and scholars. Some of his close teachers were, and are, Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche, Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje, Professor Sempa Dorje and Khenpo Chodrak Tenphel Rinpoche. Dharma Mitra was blessed with the title of Khenpo by both Karmapa and Shamar Rinpoche at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (KIBI). Shamar Rinpoche then sent him to Kalimpong along with his other Khenpo friends to teach at the newly inaugurated Shri Diwakar Vihara, Buddhist Institute for Higher Studies. He was given the responsibility of headmaster of that institute. In 2006, Shamar Rinpoche brought him to the US to teach at the Bodhi Path Buddhist Centers in America. Since that time, he has been one of the main teachers at KIBI as well as at the Bodhi Path centers in the Americas. In 2007, he was given the main responsibility to arrange the study courses at KIBI. Dharma Mitra is known as Khenpo Tsering among his many close students, and he resides in San Luis Obispo, CA when he is in the US.
