About the program: Start 2026 with a weekend devoted to meditation practice.  Karma Trinlay Rinpoche and the Bodhi Path Buddhist Center of San Luis Obispo welcome you to join us for a weekend program using the text Boundless Awakening: The Heart of Buddhist Meditation.  This pocket-sized text was written by Bodhi Path founder Shamar Rinpoche and includes key points for both the body and mind in meditation.  Karma Trinlay Rinpoche, a skilled and compassionate teacher, will offer teachings on meditation posture, calm-abiding, and insight meditation, drawing from the text.

Trinlay Rinpoche will teach extensively from "Boundless Awakening" and encourages all to read this brief text beforehand. You may submit questions about why, what, and/or how to practice here during registration, or as time permits during the program. Your questions further Rinpoche's ability to support our practice.

Meditation according to the Buddha’s teachings is a necessary support to attain liberation. The various forms, starting with the meditation of calm abiding (Shamatha or Shiné), serve to train the mind. The point is to subdue the constant, inner distractions, to attain a calmer, more peaceful mind. This establishes the stability of mind which is the foundation for any further progress on the path to awakening.

This program is suitable for students of all levels, newcomers and seasoned practitioners alike.

Refuge vows may be offered at the end of the Saturday teaching for anyone present in person who has not yet taken vows.  Email questions to s...@bodhipath.org

Make a donation to Bodhi Path Buddhist Center SLO
Help the SLO Bodhi Path Center end 2025 on strong financial footing.  Bodhi Path teachers' livelihood is supported through offerings.  Our dedicated teachers, who have extensive training according to traditional Buddhist methods, provide precious oral instructions in the dharma and offer their guidance.  The best way to show our gratitude is to put the teachings into practice.  Another important way is to show our gratitude and support the teachers' activities through offerings.  It is customary to make offerings to teachers after teachings.

Help the SLO center meet it's monthly expenses so we can continue providing Dharma activities for the local and virtual community.  Our center also relies on the generosity of donors like you, the only source of financial support to cover center costs. Monthly support and one time donations are both enormously helpful and beneficial.
