Ayurveda calls it as Paranty
It is considered to be a good blood purifier hence it is used in
various skin affections like itches, scabies, boils etc. infusion made
out of leaf and stem is used in infantile skin diseases, Traditional
Keralvaidyas uses flowers externally to sores, ulcers scabies and some
kinds of dermatitis.it is also administered internally in cholera,
dysentery etc.flowers are used in Chemparutyadi tailam which is used
in Skin diseases of children and roots are used in Parantyadi tailam
which is very much useful in psoriasis.it is not much explained in
Classic ayurveda , but it seems it is one of the innovation of Kerala
