Hai,thease are the medicinal uses of tragea invlucrata-

Choriyanam (Tragia involucrata) is a small annual herb, characterized for its leaf which causes itching on skin when come in contact with. There are certain small hair-like projections on the lower side of the leaf. These hairs are responsible for the itching effect.

The extracts from this plant has diaphoretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. The root-paste preparation is used to evict guinea worms. It is also used in the treatment of itchy boils of skin.

Tragia involucrate belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae.

Thank You Sheji ji for the nice post with a good close up of the
Mechanical trichomes present in Tragia involucrata..
Thank You Dinesh Ji for the vernacular names..

I welcome Pallavi ji to Bodhi-Nighantu & thanks for the medicinal
information..
I would like to share a few more points...
Few more medicinal uses
Root is diuretic, Alterative, Used to cure Pruritis, Piles, Diabetes,
Guinea worms, giddiness, Melalgia…
Fruit cures Baldness,
Not eaten by cattle,
Leaves good for Cephalgia..

The mechanical trichomes which produces itch is due a protein peptide
material which when dried looses its effect..
dipping the leaf in liquid nitrogen and brushing off trichomes onto
paper makes it lose its itch producing effect
has properties in common with acetylcholine, histamine, 5-HT etc., and
it is found in nearly 50 species of plants from various families of
Urticaceae, Leguminaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Hydrophyllaceae etc.,

Thank You

In Malayalam, the name is Kodithoova കൊടിത്തൂവ or Koduthoova കൊടുത്തൂവ. The given name coriyanam ചൊറിയണം is another plant.
