English: Silk Cotton tree; Hindi: Semal; Kannada: Kempu booruga; Malayalam: Elavu; Thamizh: Elava maram; Telugu: Boorugu chettu

parts used in medicine: Root, Stem bark, Flowers, petioles, prickles, gum, unripe tender fruits

Well tanay ji...i use a Canon Camera EOS 1000D with a wide angle lens
18-55mm for plants & Landscape photography and for other wildlife
photography i use a tele lens 55-250mm and its new to me and recently
started using the same for shooting plants too.. shortly will come out
with new posts using my new lens..

names that u have given in the 4 south indian languages, Hindi,
Sanskrit & English sounds to be correct..absolutely no error in
it...rest of them are to be validated by others..Looking forward for

              it mean, its rasa(taste) is madhur (sweet) it produces cooling effect (due to sheet veerya)  rasayani ,nd increases kapha ..
           it decreases  increased state of pitta ,rakta,  vata ,and helps in cantrol over the disease raktapitta (haemorrhage like disorder)....
 
             AND it also told in shaka varga .....   
                       can used in the form of vegetables (FLOWERS) if it is prepared in ghee nd saindhava lavan used in the form of food cures dusadhya pradar (menstrual disorders)...

       IN CHARAK SAMHITA CHIKITSA STHANA  this above said drug is used in atisara in
       particular method ie pichha basti...

The Prickles found on Shalmali tree...
Ayurveda even explains about the medicinal aspect of these prickles...its to be rubbbed with water and used as one of the best applications to cure "Yauvana pidaka" (Pimples)
