Dear Drs,
I am looking for literature reference of black seed Nigella sativa (Karunjeeragam) in Ayurvedic medical and old Hindu scriptures or in Vedas or in Geetha if any...  reference if any.

Dear Sir,
Thanks for the post. Please find attached the photographs of the plant Upakunchika (Syn: Kalajaaji, Krishna Jeeraka, Pruthveeka, Kaaravi, Bruhat Jeeraka). Botanically equated to Nigella sativa L. (Syn: Nigella cretica Mill.) of Ranunculaceae family.
Also please refer this article for some more information on the plant's biological activity.

Thanks dr, No da Karthi, I need is proof of Black Seed (N. sativa) (Karun Jeeragam) in Hindu Scriptures or Vedas. I have heard its there in Mahabharatha where Krishnan have mentioned about Black Seed somewhere..
