Wood sorrel possesses various medicinal actions like anthelmintic, astringent, antiscorbutic, diuretic, stomachic, febrifuge and styptic.

The whole plant is edible and used in salads to be eaten raw.

Leaves and flowers are used as remedy for fever, influenza, diarrhoea, traumatic injuries and urinary tract infections.

Leaves also work as an antidote for poison such as snakebite, datura.

The infusion of this plant is useful remedy for hookworms and leaves extract can be used externally to apply on skin rashes and eruptions, insect bites and burns.

Thank you Sheji ji for posting Oxalis corniculata, Changeri...a very
important drug in the treatment of GRAHANI roga...(Irritable bowel
syndrome/sprue). A formulation named Changeryadi ghritham(A medicated
ghee which is made of Oxalis & other drugs) has been mentioned in
Charaka Chikitsastana to cure this disease.

Thank you Dinesh ji & Guru ji for the wonderful names in different
languages...
Yes Simkin ji...Dalhana explains that this is a plant which is similar
to "Sunishanna".

Dear Tanay ji & Guruji thanks for clarifying the differences between
Marsilea & Oxalis...during the period when Ancient acharyas had
written the classical texts of Ayurveda, Botanical knowledge was not
much aware to them... though a text of VRUKSHAAYURVEDA existed which
deals with all the modern day's families & its characters, Ayurvedic
personalities were not so aware of this text those times...So they had
used a different way of naming the plants in Sanskrit, which would
explain the morphological characters, or similes to various other well
known plants etc., hence so many names exist for a single
plant...Similarly A commentator of the text of SUSHRUTHA SAMHITA named
DALHANA (10th or 11th cent AD) has explained this plant to be similar
to that of "Sunishanna"(Marsiliea), which was familiar to all those
days.

the pictographic explanations of Tanay ji clarifies the similarities
in their general appearance.. & the technical differences would also
be appreciated. . .

Thank You
