for Caraka Samhita at I-SERVE by Dr. M. Paramkusha Rao, Tirupati
Regarding
Dear Sirs,
This Institute is happy and privileged to present the Digitalization
programs for Devanaagari text books of ancient times. As a part of
this program a software is designed and developed by Dr.M.Paramkusa
Rao, Professor, S.V. Ayurvedic Medical college, Tirupati., on Charaka
Samhita, a classical work of Ayurveda, in Sanskrit language. The
engine developed will give instantaneous search for the words that are
used in the Samhita with the following features:
This search Engine is an intermediate premier word search facility
developed in Visual Basic. It is for the first time that a Sanskrit
text is provided with digital search. It helps to search any word in
Caraka Samhita, either technical or general, when typed in English, on
a computer and picks up the related Slokas (Verses) in which the word
is found in the Samhitha. It does not need any specific font or soft
wear to install and is user friendly. Popular key boards and a few
instructions will help search. This search operation is done rapidly.
Once the search is done, the verses along with English translations
can be saved as a separate document, along with the verse ID and
chapter ID.
This facilitates the Ayurvedic professionals in their day to day
practice and for research in an exemplary way. It is also useful for
the Ayurvedic student community to study in detail any topic in Caraka
Samhita. More such software developments are in the pipeline with I-
SERVE.
