"Once Upon A Time In China V" was released in 1994, directed by Tsui Hark again but still starring Vincent Zhao. This movie along with the next installment, "Once Upon A Time In China and America", are easily the black sheep of the series, as they feel so different compared to the rest of the movies. This movie, for once, has nothing to do with foreigners and instead has Wong Fei-Hung and his friends fighting against Chinese pirates who are oppressing the town. The movie goes in a lesser, but still fun and interesting direction for the story, and is easily the most comedic in tone in the series. One thing I like about this movie is how this time, Wong and co. have to learn to use guns as their main defense instead of just martial arts, and it creates an interesting dynamic and conflict for the characters. My favorite fight is easily the fight against the pirate leader, Devil Cheung. I just found it funny how the guy was literally a hundred years old and looking like a decomposing corpse yet he's still able to jump around, do impossible stunts, and fend himself against multiple people. I also love the fight because Wong has to fight him atop treasure chests and stolen antiques, which creates a fun fighting scenario. Fun flick if you're just looking for simple entertainment, 7/10.
