geofacet handler and selection

I have seen, that there is some new stuff concerning geo search in
GIT. But as I have not found any documentation about it, I have a
question.

I would like to have a geofacet handler, that returns the hit count
for e.g.

0 - 5
5 - 10
10 - 20
20 - 50
> 50

But I would not only want the hitcount, but it should be possible to
click on a facet and then only get search results, there are in the
selected range.

I know that this was not possible, some time ago. But maybe with the
new geo searching possibilities, this option is now also available. As
I do not know this, could someone please shed some light on this
topic?
