I just stumbled upon sensei. It looks like sensei already has bobo &
zoie integrated together.

So if I'm interested in both realtime indexing & faceting, should I
use sensei instead of trying to integrate bobo & zoie?

What are the pros & cons? Is sensei being used at LinkedIn? Will
sensei be updated to the latest versions of bobo & zoie when they come
out?

Yes, sensei should have the integration done already.
Sensei will have to latest bobo & zoie. We will make sure releases of
sensei to have the latest synchronized.

Sensei is being actively developed at linkedin and will be in prod
hopefully q2 then we will do a release.

Is there any kind of advantage in moving to Sensei if you use Bobo Browse in combination with Hibernate Search for indexing, with all the limitations that involves? I'm thinking here also about the options Hibernate Search has to creating a custom IndexManager. If so, is there a document or wiki that describes migration?

HI Marc:

I am not familiar with Hiberate to answer that question...

Sensei abstracts away the indexing code you would write. It automatically generates the lucene document from the schema file. My understanding with Hibertnate is that it maps a POJO to a row in the DB as well as a lucene document. In that respect, it overlaps the functionality in Sensei.

     Hope this helps.
