Padlet is a versatile and intuitive virtual post board that can be shared with your students either in class or as an extension to their learning. The most common uses for teaching and learning currently are:
Padlet provides the ability to log in to the Service with your Microsoft account. by connecting in this method, you grant them access to your email address, and, if available, your name, photo, and username associated with them. They do not receive your password.
Public padlets give Padlet, the right to view, share, and promote the content on them. Any content you post on a public padlet is also indexable by search engines and, as such, is open to the public.
Padlet is an online collaborative bulletin board that allows participants to interact by posting text, links, images, videos, and more. Montclair State has acquired a site license that allows faculty and staff the ability to create an unlimited number of Padlets.
Use the Padlet Account Request Form to request a Teacher account associated with your Montclair State University NetID for Padlet. After your Padlet account request is received and approved, go to montclair.padlet.org/, then log in with your Montclair Google Account (NetID and associated password).
When setting up your padlets for student assignments, you should always check your privacy settings. It is highly recommended that you set your privacy settings to Secret and visitor permissions to can write so that it is hidden from Google and public areas of Padlet.
You could choose to provide students with a blank document for them to contribute to. Or you might want to create a more structured environment by providing prompts, questions or categories within the document to guide students through the activity.
Important: Padlet is working on making its platform fully accessible, but it does not yet meet international WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standard. If you use Padlet in your teaching you should have another option for collaboration for any students who are unable to use the platform. Care should also be taken that the wallpaper and colour schemes chosen in Padlet do not disadvantage students who are partially-sighted or have a colour vision deficiency.
Similar to Microsoft Word online, Google Docs allows you and your students to collaborate in a shared document in real-time. Staff and students can use their Sussex account details to login to Google in order to use Google Docs. Google Docs is not currently supported by IT Services.
Padlet is an intuitive online tool that allows you to create different types of digital walls to collaborate and share content with others in real time. Padlet supports the use of different file types and provides options to comment, like and vote on posts. It has a number of moderation settings including choosing to make engagement anonymous, to increase engagement or to enable attribution to see who is collaborating.
Under Privacy in the Share menu, you can also edit visitor permissions. This will restrict whether visitors are able to read only, or whether they can post and edit content.
Padlet does not currently meet the WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standard, though they are working towards compliance. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone. The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA, and AAA). Padlet has chosen Level AA as its target.
Currently, you can navigate the login page and the dashboard using only your keyboard. Padlets can be viewed, but settings cannot be changed. We are working on keyboard compatibility for settings, post-creation, post-editing, and post-expansion.
When a Padlet link is shared with you, click on the link to open it. This link will be provided by the instructor in any form of communication for example blackboard, post, email, QR code etc. You are not required to login to access Padlet or any posts in Padlet.
Once you perform step 2 of this document, a box will appear asking for your post Title and will ask you to write something, You can also perform various functions by clicking three dots as shown in picture.
Padlet is a web app that works like a digital bulletin board. Students and teachers may use padlet to share ideas and collaborate by posting notes, text, and images to the board. Victoria University now has a licence for Padlet. Padlet is an online tool that is best described as an online post-it board. It can be used by students and teachers to post notes on a common page. The notes posted can contain links, videos, images and document files. This can be shared with any student or teacher by embedding the padlet on a VU Collaborate page, or providing them with the unique Padlet link. Padlet allows you to create as many online post-it boards or "walls" as you like and insert ideas anonymously or with your name. You can set these Padlets to private or public. Private walls can be created by requiring a password to access them, or by limiting access to registered users with specified emails. Teachers can use this to collaborate within a subject department that is not accessible by the students and moderate all notes before they appear. If you intend to share a padlet with students, set your padlet to Secret and share the link or embed the padlet in VU Collaborate.

If you have an existing Padlet account, you will be given the option to import previously created Padlet.com into your VU Collaborate Padlet account.
