I wanted to let you know about a special event that is near and dear to my heart! It combines my passion for open water swimming with my passion for helping people in our community.
On Saturday, April 1st at 8am, some of my “swim friends” and I will jump in the water at the Sail Pavilion next to the Tampa Convention Center. We’ll swim 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) around Davis Islands to raise funds and awareness for the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. We call this event “Strokes for Hope”.
One person who will be joining me in the swim is Jamie Klingman. Jamie is the Vice Chair of the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay’s Board of Directors. She’s my “partner in crime” for this crazy event, and her dedication to the mission of the Crisis Center in unwavering.
I’ve been with the Crisis Center for almost two years. I have an incredible team of 190 kindhearted individuals who are working around-the-clock to provide help, hope, and healing to hurting people in their most desperate hour. The organization responded to over 160,000 requests for help last year. We need continued support so we can help even more people!

- Cheer us on at the event on April 1st. We’ll be starting and ending at the Sail Pavilion next to the Tampa Convention Center. The approximately swim time will be 3.5 hours.
