Please see the attached message from Jeremiah Whitman and Leigh Ann Landreth.

I do not support the following assumption that the program is flawed and needs drastic improvement. I was not consulted about the changes nor asked for input regarding necessary improvements that they so desire.

As for the security reasons - this is a new reason - there have been no known security issues. I know if two instances of the yfc door unlocked.

Please let me, Leigh Ann and Jeremiah know  your thoughts to these changes.

We had a great little thing going at the yfc the passed 5 years.   I appreciate your support, you coming to swim to get a great workout and I hope that you have learned some swimming along the way.

See you in the morning.
Mark

Subject: Master's Swimming changes

Good evening,

I wanted to reach out to you to express some changes and gain your feedback on our Master’s Swimming Program.

It has been brought to our attention that it is a risk management and security concern to hold the Master’s Program during a time when the Youth and Family Center is not in operation and totally staffed.  Due to that fact as of November 1st we are going to move the program to the Bob Sierra Pool.  The timing of practices will remain the same.  While I know this is not the optimal change we are attempting to make this change only seasonally.  During Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings we will have dedicated lane space at Bob Sierra for the Masters Program.

In addition to this change we will be adding a practice time at the YFC for your convenience.  We will have dedicated lane space for Master’s at the YFC in the evenings on Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm-8pm. Hopefully this will work well into your schedule and give you an option to swim at the YFC pool.

Starting Nov 1st we would like you to stop by and register for the Masters Program at the front desk of Bob Sierra.  There will not be a charge attached to this but this will help us with tracking usage and allow us to be able to make improvements to the program.

I would also like to invite you to a Focus Group on  Thursday November 5th  at 6:00pm at the YFC.  I would like to get your input on the future of the Master’s Program and where you would like to see it going and what improvements we can make.

Thank you for your patience with this transition and please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Senior Aquatics Director
