Problem about the bob.rppg code on HCI data

Hi,

I followed the installation instructions here: https://gitlab.idiap.ch/bob/bob.rppg.base

The code is running fine using “./bin/chrom.py” on the cohface dataset, but there is a problem when trying it on the HCI dataset. The error reports “No such file or directory: '$MY_PATH/bob.rppg.base-1.0.3/eggs/bob.db.hci_tagging-1.0.4-py3.6.egg/bob/db/hci_tagging/data/protocols/cvpr14/li_samples_cvpr14.txt'”. 

It seems that the hci data package in “bob” is not shipped with the “data” folder which should contain files like protocol, face bbox and the “li_samples_cvpr14.txt”.

I would appreciate your help.

Thanks for your interest in our work.

Could you please execute the following command to download the HCI metadata:

bob_dbmanage.py hci_tagging download --missing

and let us know if that fixes the issue? The hci_tagging Bob DB interface has 112 Mb of metadata and we cannot ship it with the PyPI package.

Out of curiosity - Have you conda-installed the whole?

Hi Andre,

Thanks for your quick response. I followed your instruction by executing "bob_dbmanage.py hci_tagging download --missing", and this does download the missing metadata, though it takes approximately 2 hours because of the slow network speed. After copying the "data" folder to the required destination, the problem is solved and now the program is running fine.

About the conda install whole thing, I am not quite sure. I recall mainly following the instructions on https://www.idiap.ch/software/bob/docs/bob/bob/stable/install.html to install bob, and then executing:

$ python bootstrap-buildout.py

$ ./bin/buildout

as told in https://gitlab.idiap.ch/bob/bob.rppg.base

I configured using python2 when creating the bob env.
