Here are the details for October 2018 at Boaters. Don't forget that October is the 28th anniversary of this fantastic free weekly jazz gig so please come along one Sunday and raise a glass (or two) with us.

=====
Sunday 7th October - Sumudu

Sumudu is a multi talented singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist who has been featured in a number of high profile TV concerts including the Millennium countdown celebrations, and a tribute to Burt Bacharach and Hal David at The Royal Albert Hall. Recently, she has been providing backing vocals, keyboards and percussion for Van Morrison, and has also worked with Jason Rebello, Jacob Collier and Shaun Escoffrey. Joining her this evening are Simon Carter (piano), Steve Pearce (bass) and Neal Wilkinson (drums).

=====
Sunday 14th October - Nigel Price

Nigel is an award-winning guitarist who is regularly seen hosting the late night jam sessions at Ronnie Scott's. He is one of the most prolific touring jazz musicians in the UK, which has led him to play at virtually every jazz club and festival in the country attracting huge praise wherever he plays. He has recorded six albums as leader, including five with his acclaimed organ trio. He is joined tonight by Mark Crooks on tenor sax, Simon Thorpe on double bass and drummer Emiliano Caroselli.

=====
Sunday 21st October - Simon Spillett Quartet

This is hard swing and bebop at its very best. Simon won the 'Rising Star' category of the BBC jazz awards in 2007 and is one of the most energetic and dynamic tenor saxophonists in Britain. Often likened to Tubby Hayes, Simon's appearances at jazz clubs across the country have led to rave reviews and unconditional acclaim, and tonight he is joined by Rob Barron on piano, Simon Thorpe on double bass and drummer Clark Tracey.

=====
Sunday 28th October - Mornington Lockett

This gig with Mornington traditionally marks the 28-year anniversary celebrations. He is undoubtedly one of the finest tenor saxophonists this country has to offer and one of the most popular visitors to Boaters, having appeared here more times than any other guest since the gig began in 1990. Over the years he has been a member of Ronnie Scott's band, the Jim Mullen Quartet, and more recently "Celebrating the Jazz Couriers". The line up is completed by Laurence Cottle on bass, drummer Ian Thomas and pianist Simon Carter.
