Here are the details for February 2018 at Boaters.

=====
Sunday 4th February - Al Cherry

Al is one of the most in demand guitarists in London, and is frequently seen playing with major jazz, blues and commercial artists. He was a featured soloist with Paloma Faith during her Electric Prom at The Royal Albert Hall, and he has also worked with the likes of Rumer, Lisa Stansfield and Carleen Anderson. He has regularly appeared at Ronnie Scott's so it is a pleasure to welcome him back to Boaters. Joining him are Simon Carter on piano, Laurence Cottle on bass and drummer Ian Thomas.

=====
Sunday 11th February - Leo Richardson Quartet

Leo is a tenor saxophonist, who has been hailed as one of the UK's brightest stars of the jazz scene after the critically acclaimed reception he garnered with the release of his debut album "The Chase" in 2017. Writing in The Observer, Dave Gelly gave the album 5 stars and said: "I can't remember hearing a more impressive debut. The style is hard bop, but music as good as this is beyond category." He also received a 5 star review in The Guardian, and The Sunday Times placed "The Chase" in the top 10 jazz albums of the year. It is a pleasure to welcome him to Boater where he is joined by Rick Simpson on piano, Tim Thornton on double bass and Ed Richardson on drums.

=====
Sunday 18th February - Mr Little's Noisy Band

Led by London based guitarist and composer Andy Little, this blistering band blends modern funk and jazz in exciting and intricate arrangements. Playing a host of original compositions, Andy's band comprises some of the UK jazz funk scene's hottest musicians. Their music is crafted to captivate and spiritualise the senses whilst delivering a hot slice of 'funkdafied' jazz! The line up is completed by Piers Green (alto sax), Hoagy Plastow (tenor sax), Andras Varadi (trombone), Matt Carter (keyboards), Matt Findlay (bass) and Joel Prime on drums.

=====
Sunday 25th February - Zena James Quartet

With her distinctive soulful and bluesy approach to popular standards and lesser-known jazz gems, critics have described vocalist Zena as "the real deal with an intelligent approach to the familiar lyric and a good ear for a neglected classic". Her second album "Captivated" has a distinctive crossover sound, as much inspired by 70's soul and pop, as the jazz greats. Her compelling voice takes influences from the likes of Anita O'Day and Peggy Lee, to Stevie Wonder and Eva Cassidy, and her live performance is powerful, stylish and full of infectious grooves. Joining Zena tonight are Nicolas Meier (guitar), Chris Dodd (bass) and Mike Bradley (drums).
