Sunday 6th May - Nigel Price / Allison Neale Quartet

Nigel is an award-winning guitarist who is regularly seen hosting the late night jam sessions at Ronnie Scott's. He is one of the most prolific touring jazz musicians in the UK, which has led him to play at virtually every jazz club and festival in the country attracting huge acclaim wherever he plays. Tonight he joins alto saxophonist Allison Neale, whose beautifully crafted West Coast style evokes the spirit of Paul Desmond and Art Pepper, with whom she has a particular affinity. The quartet is completed by Simon Thorpe on double bass and drummer Emiliano Caroselli.

Sunday 13th May - Pete Oxley / Nicolas Meier Quartet

This sees a collaboration between two major European voices of the guitar, as heard on their recent album, 'The Colours of Time'. This gig forms part of an extensive UK and European tour which showcases performances on everything from nylon string acoustic, to steel string, to electric, to 12 string, to fretless and glissentar, and more! Expect a dazzling display of contemporary fare, ranging from Turkish panache to soundscapes of Latin America to English pastoralism. Their relationship has developed a spontaneity and intuitive interplay that is full of excitement and creative magic. They are joined by Kevin Glasgow on bass and Paul Cavaciuti on drums.

Sunday 20th May - Redtenbacher's Funkestra

The Funkestra is a high-energy band led by Berklee alumnus Stefan Redtenbacher on bass and composition. They play their own blend of original funk, soul and jazz, full of groove and built on electrifying arrangements. Recently they have returned from a trip to the States, recording and performing with Hammond organ player Dave Limina, and they are in the process of recording their 12th album for a big band and a host of guest star drummers. For this gig Stefan brings a 5-piece line-up which features Mike Outram (guitar), Piers Green (sax), Ross Stanley (Hammond organ) and Mike Sturgis (drums).

Sunday 27th May - Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion

As part of the Boaters Blues Weekend, Jazz at Boaters welcomes Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion. Featuring Zoe Schwarz on vocals, Rob Koral on guitar, Pete Whittaker on Hammond Organ and drummer Paul Robinson, they have been together since 2012 producing six albums. Gareth Hayes, of Rock n Reel Magazine wrote "... this is gorgeous music that grips and caresses in equal measure." They have been nominated in the British Blues Awards several times so expect genuine blues flavours with sophistication and swing.
