Sunday 1st December - Mark Nightingale

Mark is probably the finest trombone player of his generation. His prodigious talent was recognised at the age of 15 when he won the Don Lusher award, and soon after he became the lead trombonist in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. He has firmly established himself on the international jazz scene, and has worked with such American greats as Clark Terry, Lee Konitz and George Shearing, as well as stepping in at the last minute to play with Steely Dan on a UK tour. Completing the line up are Simon Carter on piano, Simon Thorpe on bass and drummer Dave Ohm.

Sunday 8th December - Anita Wardell Quartet

Jazz vocalist Anita Wardell has been acclaimed for the unique artistry she brings to scat and be-bop singing. Rave reviews from peers and critics alike have cemented her reputation as one of the finest vocalists of her generation. She is noted for her mesmerizing and captivating improvisations and vocalese lyrics to instrumental solos. She is joined tonight by Rob Barron on piano, Jeremy Brown on double bass and Steve Brown on drums.

Sunday 15th December - The Knights of Shame

The Knights return to Boaters, bringing their foot tapping flavour of vintage soul, funk and infectious grooves with them. Featuring songs by the likes of Gil Scott-Heron, Curtis Mayfield and Bobby Womack, the band is led by singer and guitarist Andy Caine, who is ably supported by Adam Goldsmith on guitar, Simon Carter on keyboards, Steve Pearce on bass and drummer Ed Richardson. This is an evening not to be missed!

Sunday 22nd December - Laurence Cottle Quartet

Generally regarded as one of the greatest electric bass players that the UK has produced, Laurence's career has spanned session work with artists as varied as Black Sabbath, Eric Clapton and Seal, and a jazz CV that has seen him play with Jim Mullen, Jason Rebello and Dave Weckl. He is also a prolific composer and arranger, and his big band has performed tribute concerts to both Jaco Pastorius and The Tower of Power. Tonight he brings an all-star band to Boaters, featuring saxophonist Leo Richardson, guitarist Ant Law and drummer Ernesto Simpson.

=====
Sunday 29th December - Kevin Fitzsimmons Quartet

Charismatic jazz singer/songwriter Kevin Fitzsimmons is one of the most individual male jazz voices to emerge on the UK jazz scene recently and together with his band, they blend West Coast cool, hard swinging standards and blues-tinged ballads, all in the space of a relentlessly entertaining set. He delivers a sassy new take on classic songs by the likes of Mercer, Strayhorn, Jobim, Legrand, Ellington and Porter, alongside new jazz translations of anthems from the likes of The Beatles, Sam Cooke and Paul Weller. Completing the quartet are Leon Greening on piano, Huw Williams on double bass and Lloyd Haines on drums.
