Here are the details for April 2018 at Boaters.
=====
Sunday 1st April - Kevin Fitzsimmons Quartet
Charismatic jazz singer/songwriter Kevin Fitzsimmons is one of the most individual male jazz voices to emerge on the UK jazz scene recently and together with his band, they blend West Coast cool, hard swinging standards and blues-tinged ballads, all in the space of a relentlessly entertaining set. He delivers a sassy new take on classic songs by the likes of Mercer, Strayhorn, Jobim, Legrand, Ellington and Porter, alongside new jazz translations of anthems from the likes of The Beatles, Sam Cooke and Paul Weller. Completing the quartet are Leon Greening on piano, Tim Thornton on double bass and Lloyd Haines on drums.
=====
Sunday 8th April - Jim Hunt
Jim is one of the most complete saxophonists in today's music industry. A former young jazz musician of the year, he is also hugely in demand for his horn section work which has seen him tour all over the world with the likes of Amy Winehouse, Incognito, The Brand New Heavies and Primal Scream. He is joined tonight by Simon Carter on piano, Laurence Cottle on bass and Simon Lea on drums.
=====
Sunday 15th April - Dave Warren Quartet
Guitarist Dave Warren draws his influences from guitarists such as Pat Martino and the Hammond Organ combos of the 1960s. He is often seen playing at Ronnie Scott's with the Renato D'Aiello Quartet, and his CV also includes playing at the Music For Montserrat concert, directed by George Martin. He also regularly performs with fellow British jazz guitarist Dave Cliff. His quartet tonight features Frank Griffith on sax, Ross Stanley on organ and Matt Home on drums.
=====
Sunday 22nd April - Mornington Lockett
Mornington is undoubtedly one of the finest tenor saxophonists this country has to offer and one of the most popular visitors to Boaters, having appeared here more times than any other guest since the gig began in 1990. Over the years he has been a member of Ronnie Scott's band, the Jim Mullen Quartet, and more recently "Celebrating the Jazz Couriers". The line up is completed by Laurence Cottle on bass, drummer Jack Pollitt and pianist Simon Carter.
=====
Sunday 29th April - Derek Nash
Derek is one of the most popular saxophonists in Britain. He is the leader of the award winning group Sax Appeal, and is also a member of Jools Holland's Band with whom he has toured all over the country and made countless TV appearances.
