The WBL team round-robin is starting soon.  If there's enough interest in fielding a team, I'll coordinate it.  The time commitment is 3 matches every 2 months from May to September, to be scheduled by the team captains.

For those of you interested, WBL will be holding its annual Round Robin
event again this summer.  As we did last year, there will be a section for
0-300 players.  If you are interested in forming a team, please see either
me or Steve Robinson.

The 2011 Washington Bridge League Round Robin/Knockout deadline is
Thursday May 5th

There will be at least three brackets, which will depend on entries;
unlimited (A/X); 0-2000 (B/C/D) and 0-300 (E)

In the unlimited bracket there will be a separate X-flight with X
overalls. The 0-2000-flight will be stratified depending on the entries
with separate B/C/D overalls. You can play in flight B/C/D and also try
your skills against the big boys in flight A/X or play in the 0-300
flight and try your luck against the B/C/D players.


Play two twelve-board matches against each of the teams in your
section. You get masterpoints for every twelve-board match you win.
The matches will be scored by victory points and the teams that do
very well in each flight in each bracket will qualify to play in
knockout matches for overall awards. The opposing Captains will
schedule matches, which will be played at homes or clubs at the
convenience of the players. This is a social event as well as a bridge
event.

The round-robin matches will be played between May and September at the
rate of three matches every two months. The knockout portion will start
in September and will end before January 2012.

Email Steve Robinson; the members of your team, the name of your
Captain and which flights you want to enter. Also give to or send $50.00
for flight A/X and $40.00 for the lower flights, to Steve at

Matches would be scheduled by the captains of the two meeting teams, at a time and place agreed to be convenient to them, which could be at a home or a club, and on any day.
