Hi everyone.  First and most importantly, BoaT is on tomorrow for any comers.  All three of us will be around from 7, so we'll have plenty of people available to play.

Second, Sectionals were last weekend.  Congratulations to Ben and Joia (and myself as well) for earning masterpoints against a very difficult field.

Lastly, as far as upcoming events go, Regionals in Baltimore are this week.  BoaT-house is going Friday morning instead of Tuesday, so we can play in more matches (there's a 1pm and 7:30 under-50 session).  Carpoolers are welcome.  The usually Thursday night unit game in Chevy Chase is on this week, email us if you'd like a partner.

Aside from the weekly unit game, there's no further events until Fairfax sectionals late September.

I may possibly be in for BoaT tomorrow.  I will keep you informed as things progress.

Also, I have a Google calendar for BoaT and bridge-related events.  Email me privately for an invite.

To those unfamiliar, Thursday club game is kinda neat.  It's fast play, a wide variety of players, and a relaxed-competitive atmosphere.  Since it's matchpoint scoring, scores are compared directly against partnerships in the same vulnerability, directional seating, and deal order.  It's pretty similar to rubber scoring, except each hand is treated separate from all others, and there is a point bonus for making a partial, game, and slams.  Since your scores are compared with everyone in the same position as you, you'll get a good idea of where you did well and where you missed out on an opportunity to bid a game, a slam, or stop before it was too late!  :)  It's also a lot of bridge in the main game we play -- twenty-four boards.

Come join us, we need a regular 4th!  :)
