Greeting BoaT-ers,

There will be bridge tomorrow at our place.  Feel free to come at any time past work hours, but message ahead so we can get parking permits for everyone.

Baltimore Regionals were this past week.  Congratulations to Joia and Steve for scoring masterpoints, and to Joia for becoming our first Junior Master!  I'm extraordinarily impressed at the strong development of everyone who's put their mind to it recently, as well as pleased at the number of BoaTers who have volunteered to come out with us for events.  It's great to see some enthusiasm for the game.

The Six Degree Singers fall season begins this week.  This means BoaT-house will be absent from the Thursday unit games except for special occasions.  There's no further events until Fairfax Sectionals in late September (free 0-5 play, stay tuned!)  So come to Tuesdays!  We look forward to seeing people.

-Ken

As long as I can get my school paper done during the day tomorrow, Lizzie and I are in for tomorrow!

I'll be there, but probably a little bit late (not too much).

Looking less likely that Chris will be there, as the paper's not going as quickly as he'd like. But one never knows.  Either way I plan on coming by after dinner time, say 7.30-8pm.

Hey folks,

Just wanted to send out a quick email while things were still fresh on my mind.

1. It was great seeing everyone and I'm looking forward to seeing those of you coming to Scott Pilgrim again tomorrow.

2. I am feeling unhappy with the competitive feeling I am beginning to get from the bridge folks. This is far from universal, and those I haven't played with yet, clearly this does not apply to you. But it has been happening more and more often of late. Now it's cool if that's just the way things are going, I can just bow out of future bridging. It won't be the end of my world. Just let me know what your thoughts are and I can go from there. Perhaps we can have a night denoted as "Relaxed Bridge" versus "Competitive Tournament Bridge" so I know whether or not I should attend. Either way if fine by me.

Peace out folks,

 - Tophe

Hi all,

I'm discussing this with Chris off-list, but I wanted to make it clear that our goals for BoaT night are above all else to have a good time being social with people.  Sometimes we forget this.  A close second is, however, learning and trying to encourage people of all skill levels to grow a little bit.  I think these goals are simultaneously attainable, and I hope anyone who chooses to come on Tuesday nights comes with the same mindset.

Thanks to everyone for coming, the attendance was remarkable!  Hopefully there are more opportunities in the future to fill 2 tables =)

-Ken
