Hiall I had this new sky hub yesterday after signing up to superfast and it is useless - it does not work, failing on all levels, a) it is not compatible with LG smart tv's, I will mention issues below, b) having ethernet connection issues and drop outs as well, c) mobile phone wi fi connection issues also.

With LG tv's connection to wi fi either refuses to connect to the hub or drops out if get a connection after a while, connected last night watched a movie on netflix, switched on tv this morning and connection had dropped out, put in hub password - failed to connect, used wpc option -failed to connect, rebooted hub 3 times, went through same procedure again - failed to connect, checked sky sheild - disabled whilst working on pc, when connected last night -tried to access the LG content store to download an app, the app page had no proper info just LG generated off line icons, when tried to download an app, tv states app download failed, I have put in my old sky Q router and LG tv connected first time and accessed all LG content no problem, but I think wi fi speeds are a lot slower. This proves that the hub is not fit for purpose.

With Ethernet could not connect to my pc for hours yesterday, this morning dropped out after an hour and would not reconnect, hub found in internet protocols all lights green, yet could not connect, put in old sky Q black router - connection was first time after 20-30 minute long boot.

Hub dropped out on my Alcatel 3L mobi, would again not reconnect this morning via wifi even though phone detected the hub, still failed after rebooting hub, connected first time with the old Sky Q black router.

I do have phone line issues as the Sky engineer made some changes to my lines in the home, which openreach have got to put right on Monday. took 20 - 30 mins for router to boot up, but have lost 2 meg in ethernet speed, 40meg down from 42.5meg.

I have reported issue also on the "LG content store issues post", as found others having same problem, why will my old router ER115 connect no problem, it cannot be the tv if it works with other routers, I had the old white SKY router prior to the ER115 and that connected fine. I will try again once openreach have sorted out my phone line, but cannot understand why LG tv can show the hub in the network search, but cannot connect, and when did for a short time could not access/download from the content store.

today had an Openreach engineer out sent by Sky, he had to fit a new wire that comes into my house from the connection point on my outer wall as was 40yrs old and throwing a few errors, and because he fitted a new wire he also fitted a new master socket, so this time when I connected the hub , all good so far, the hub connected to my pc first time, no dns errors reported by windows trouble shooter, it connected to my mobile first time no failure to connect, though I did get a couple of authentication failure errors but that seems ok now, also the failure to connect to my LG seems to have resolved, connected via the wi fi first attempt , and can now access all apps and the LG content store with no wacky offline icons which had been a problem with this hub at the start, the Sky guy (whom made a bit of a hash up with the install) said my line was rated at 45meg max, after the openreach guy had put in the new wire his test resulted in a rating of 53meg, presently getting 40meg so I guess this will go up over next couple weeks.

I guess these new hubs must be very suseptable to any line issues however minor they maybe, my line issue did not bother the old ER115 as was flawless with everything I connected, if anthing at all is out of wack it seems to throw the whole device.

Not if either the service is provisioned on 40/10 rather than 80/20, or if Openreach DLM is in effect to cap sync speed at 39999. Your Hub stats should show if either of these is the case.
