Proposal!

Good morning fellow Board members, hope you are all doing well this week.

I really had every intention to get this out much sooner, however I am finally getting it out.

I realize that it may appear I (W.A.) has been asking for a lot lately, this however is definitely worth everyone to take the time to discuss.  

 

As there has been  some recent really really wonderful $ donations which I feell so grateful for. I thought we could / should continue the flow of showing our unbelievable gratitude to our superstar volunteers. As you all have been aware of  Ben and Lindsay who have been dedicating so much of their time, energy, their very full compassionate hearts to creating the Weather Amnesty project because we believed in it being VERY much a need. Since Dec 31^st 2020 when we started have been open pretty much every single night with either Ben, Lindsay and myself being there with a support person. We have been successful in many ways outside of just being open and saving lives, but filling in gaps, being a bridge for someone to get into a rehab(inpatient), being an advocate for folks such as at Delonis, providing support for folks who need medication reminding to take which makes such a difference in someone’s life, developing a strong line of communication to Delonis, and other agencies helpful in our community, impowering folks on many levels. There are of course really difficult moments\situations that I must say Ben and Lindsay have amazed me how they’ve handled the situations that come up. We have become a pretty strong team and I am so blessed.  We have approximately have had 45guest since we’ve stared.  Ben’s leadership has been inspiring for me to know I have been a part of that and I’ve seen his special gift blosso.  I know you all have seen it also. Lindsay who has been a part of M.H. for 2 years and hugely responsible for providing us with student volunteers for Saturday Breakfast (MISSION project), she’s a part of the fabric at M.H. and now we couldn’t do W.A. without her and what a beautiful human being . A little more about Lindsay is she works 2 part time jobs to barely getting by, she’s a fulltime student, and has been dedicating 3 nights a week to W.A. since we started and she often provides transportation.  So without a doubt I (we) couldn’t do Weather Amnesty and do it successfully shining positive light to MISSION.

 

I would like to propose we give Ben and Lindsay a stipend

Such as:

Lindsay $500 for January

And $500 for Feb

Ben $ 500 for January

And $500 for Feb

And discuss again at the end of February.

 

 

I really appreciate you all for all your support wirh this PROJECT

Shout out to Fred for giving his time covering some shifts regularly now, Caleb and Peggy also for giving your time coving shifts, and to Brian for doing BIG thing laundry THANK YOU!
