Good Morning,
After the email we sent out with the pool rules and BBQ rules yesterday we received a few emails back from residents with questions.

1. The Pool rules state that food and beverages are allowed as long as they are in plastic and must be cleaned up.
The House rules state no food in the pool area.
2. BBQs- Just want to be clear that charcoal bbqs/regular bbqs are permitted on patios. Terraces- only electric BBQs are allowed
This was another question asked by multiple residents.

Do you want us to send out a retraction regarding BBQs and also notify the residents that at the next board meeting the discrepancy between the pool rules and house rules will be addressed and an email will be sent once a decision has been made?

Glad people are actually reading the house rules!

1. We will amend the house rules to be in line with the pool rules in our next board meeting in June. Food and beverages are allowed at the pool as long as they are in plastic and must be cleaned up. We had updated the pool rules last year and I guess they were not reflected in the house rules.
2. What is the difference between patios and terraces in this context? I thought only electric BBQs were allowed either way.

Thanks!

1. I think waiting til our next meeting will be fine to update the house rules with the pool rules.
2. I also thought it was electric grills only. But I'm wondering if that was only for people with terraces? Can people on the south side of the building who are on the ground floor who have grass backyards, have charcoal grills? Is that the exception? Do we even have exceptions for the grills?

I ordered the bulletin board and it should be arriving by this weekend. I can speak to Gil about putting it up when it comes.

The way the house rules are written it is only electric grills for terraces. There are no rules regarding the patios/ground level.

Village of lynbrook doesn’t regulate grills if they are on the ground level.

I still don't quite understand the BBQ rule. Is it only A floor patios / terraces that can have any grill? My front terrace / patio has another one above whereas the side one doesn't, are there different rules for it? We can also discuss more at the meeting. Thanks!

The rules as written now which are based on lynbrook fire code is that they can't be on any balconies or terraces. It seems that they have been permitted for the few units who have grass areas in the back of the building.

Ah so it's really the A-floor apartments that face that back area. I think we should explicitly list the units that are allowed to have any grill and be very clear about where it can be, etc. and that any other patio / terrace can only have electric ones.
