Hi,
As you know I've been volunteering/tutoring/mentoring at the American Indian Child Resource Center over in Oakland for some time. The AICRC provides after school programing to urban Native youth in middle and high school.
Every year the AICRC has an event to recognize the graduates. In particular, the high school students are presented with Pendleton Blankets. These blankets are given in recognition of the hard work, diligence, and good deeds the graduates have completed and the many good things they will do as future leaders.
These blankets are expensive however, anywhere from $200-300. The AICRC has some funds, but not enough to recognize all their graduates. I'm writing this email to ask you for a donation to help honor and lift up our native youth as they go forward in life to face new challenges and successes.
