Hi Guys,

Apologies for intruding seeing as I never manage to make any of your meet-ups.  Wednesday night is my sole exercise.

I've a guy called Mike Little doing some work for me at the moment.  He's travelling down by train from Manchester arriving 8pm on Wednesday evening (weather permitting) for a meeting on Thursday.  He's staying in the Swan.

I can't meet him but I was wondering if you were meeting up.  He'd be interested joining you.

He's an interesting guy.  Along with Matt Mullenweg he was one of the creators of Wordpress.

Let me know if you're going to be out and I'll let him know where to find you.

Thanks,

Shane

Hello Shane

You mean this Mike Little? http://zed1.com/journalized/ ?

And do you mean this Wednesday, January 6th? I can probably make it
out, although possibly not until 9pm (though if he's arriving at 8pm
that won't be a problem).

We've not got anything planned - not much has happened for a while -
but I'm up for it. I could also put the word out on [_] to see if
anyone fancies making the trip down this way.

No doubt others will shout if they're free. Fellas? Hello?

That's the Mike.  And yes this Wednesday.  Sorry it's late notice.

Assuming you are talking about this week: Wednesday the 6th?

I’m not sure the geeks can cope with moving our meeting forward a week. Particularly given how well attended they usually are. Just so many souls to reorganise!! J

If anything, Shane, this would be a motivator to flush out a few dusty old geeks. I have a newbie to bring along too who’s just moved into the area.

I’d be happy to move the meeting to this week.

Folks?

Steve

I should be OK for this, assuming the snow isn't *too* heavy.

Cheers,

Ah, yes, Shane, inches of snow forecast for this evening. I suspect your Mr
Little may struggle to get here tomorrow.

Let's have some faith in the ability of the UK to run trains through a little snow.  I'll update tomorrow afternoon on progress.  Where would you meet if it is happening?  Downtown or Castle?

I suggest we aim for The Swan, so assuming Mike does make it he won't
have far to walk.

Not sure I'll make it - living out near Cheddar now, so need a little more notice! Annoying, though, as it would be an interesting one (not that it isn't usually...).

I'll just have to sit here and dip into Giles's little booky-wooky...

Just to confirm that Mike is on his way and the train from Stockport is running on time.  Although there is no report on the local train of course!

I aim to be at The Swan from 8.15 but will need to leave after about 30mins. Hopefully see some of you there.

Looks like Bath->BoA is a snowy step too far. Have fun, guys!

Cheers,
