Hi,

I just installed the Eclipse integration and find myself unable to run scripts. When I hit run, I get asked for username and password. I provide those and then nothing happens.

When I hit run again, the username/password dialogs reopen with "invalid username/password" hints in the lower part of the prompt. I tripple checked that I'm using the same credentials that are working for me in the web frontend. I also changed my password, to make sure it's not a character encoding problem with certain special chars.

Any more ideas what I could try?

Best,
Sven

Hi Sven,

Thank you for installing the Boa plugin for Eclipse. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing a problem with running Boa programs.

The Boa plugin uses the Equinox security bundle to store credentials in a safe and encrypted form. Based on your description, it seems that the plugin is unable to retain your credentials after having you provide them. Normally this would occur because empty, null, or extremely long  (over 1 kilobyte) usernames/passwords have been entered. This doesn't sound like your situation, however, so I'd like to request the following information.

Could you please relay any errors appearing in the Eclipse Problems View ("Window" > "Show View" > "Problems"). Additionally, if you know you've installed a plugin in the past that utilizes Equinox, please let us know.

Hi Sambhav,

unfortunately, the plugin seems to have killed my workspace. Opening it makes Eclipse hang while “Loading org.eclipse.equinox.frameworkadmin”. Other workspaces open fine…

I retried with a fresh workspace and found an equinox security error: "Secure storage was unable to retrieve the master password from the OS keyring.” This seems to be an age-old OSX-specific problem of Eclipse [1] in general. After I disabled keystore integration --as suggested in the bug report-- everything is running fine. The new workspace continues to work over restarts.

Btw.: I’m on OSX El Capitan using Eclipse Luna.

Now to restore my original workspace...
Thanks for your help!
Best, Sven

Glad to hear it works now!  And thanks for the link.

We are starting a FAQ on the plugin, and I think this situation is a good one to note!
