Hi Gina and Stephan,
We are the very few left to hold the fort this weekend. The theme of
this weekend class are Music and Christmas. I propose we will focus
more on Music. We will all do a Christmas music performance at the
Auditorium.
Here is the run down:
1. We start with talking about music, focusing mostly on American pop
culture. On the sections about different music styles, there is a link
in each slide leading to a song/music by the shown artist or group.
Given the time limitation, you may want to play only a portion of it.
Some of the songs/music can get up to 8 mins long. There is a review
exercise at the end of the music section.
2. After the break, we are going to go into Christmas. There is
another review exercise after three Christmas slides. After that, we
will teach our students to sing 1-2 Christmas songs. There are five
songs for you to choose, with music and lyrics links attached on the
slides.
3. We will move down to the auditorium by 12 noon. And each class will
perform 1-3 songs.
4. After each class performance, Santa Claus (graciously impersonated
by Stephan) will give out presents to each of the student.
5. Andrew Class A ( Classroom 404 , 4th floor); Gina - B ( Classroom
409 , 4th floor), Stephan - C ( Classroom 410 , 4th floor)
Please note that Weijie and her team will attach the music links
separately, and will upload to the classroom pc. So you will not see
the links in the attached PowerPoint. There will be less volunteers
available this weekend. But the PowerPoint content and music should
keep the students engaged, and have fun learning English with music.
Once again, do dress warm. It's going to be very COLD this weekend.
See you at 8.30, Sat
Andrew
